Just wanted to find out if you were aware if it makes any difference as to where you get your receipt from-- with respect to making an appointment(location).
What I mean is, would it be OK to get receipt from a HDFC branch in Mumbai, if you were going to make an appointment with New Delhi Embassy ?
Any experiences..?

Hi JSaradhi,
When you got your renewal for your H1b till 2008, you should have also received a new I-94 card with a new validity on it, probably till 2008. I know this because I also recently got my H1b renewed.
Check with your employer. They should have handed over the new I-94 to you.

I would like know if any of the IV members whose I-140 applications were transfered to VSC for receipting has been approved. If those IV members have received any kind of communication from VSC regarding processing of I-140 please post the details for benefit of other members. My case should have been processed at TSC, but was sent to VSC for receipting and has been stuck there for quite some time. It appears that VSC has stopped processing I-140's as of April 2006 and have not processed any applications since then. I would sincerely appreciate if members with I-140 at VSC to please post any updates they may have received. Any idea when I-140 PP will be reinstated?

My friend's on her 6th year H1B and it will expire on Sept 10, 2010. A PERM labor was filed and the Labor went into an audit, responses were sent immediately.
If she transfer her H1B to new company.
1. Can she ask for 1 year extension based on her pending labor ? Does she need to wait till the labor gets approved ?
2. Can she use Premium Processing for H1 transfer?
#1 - Yes, as long as the PERM is pending and at least 365 days old at the time of filing H1B extension
#2 - Yes, Premium processing available at the additional cost of $1000

If you are planning to send it through an attorney, dont forget to send the new G-28.
Also, once u have sent it, i will suggest taking an infopass appointment after a month or so and making sure that the new lawyer information has been updated.

Today my lawyer sent me my receipt numbers for 485, EAD and AP. when I enter my AP receipt number to check online status I see the following...
Application Type: OS155A, IMMIGRANT VISA AND ALIEN REGISTRATION
Current Status: Card production ordered.
On August 30, 2007, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you. If we need something from you we will contact you. If you move before you receive the card, call customer service. You can also receive automatic e-mail updates as we process your case. Just follow the link below to register.
Anyone know what this means... It doesn't say I-131 in application type..

Current Status: Fingerprint fee rejected and notice mailed; case in suspense.
On August 23, 2007, we rejected your fingerprint fee and mailed you instructions for how to submit the necessary payment. This case is now in suspense. Please submit your payment with our notice as soon as possible after you receive our notice so we may resume processing of this case.
My lawyer says the checks have been cashed and we have proof of this.. She says it can be a typo..
Most weird part is for my EAD it says card has been ordered.. but I haven't even done finger prints and my 485 is in suspense..

What my lawyer said was correct. Yesterday evening received the approval email and card production email. In the case of same employer, interfiling is not necessary. USCIS took care of it automatically.

Hi,
I had my last name misspelled and middle name missing on my filed perm labor application and it was filed on 12/12/2007. It was selected for audit in Feb 2008 and have not received any update until now. Can this error in my name be corrected on my application. Please advice.
Sorry to say this, but it was dumb to have sent an application with misspelled last name! You got to check and recheck before filing it.
DOL audits do take a long time, write to them about the error. Also, get the help of an attorney (labor or immigration)

As long as you have the proof of marriage and related documents you are all set. Filing taxes as single or married has nothing to do with the GC application of the derivative .
Change of address is a slight point of concern so I would advise you to do it immediatly. Then everything should be all set. Make sure you have the same address on everything from now onwards - paystubs, bills etc which would be proof for future.
