Hi Guys,
I was reading another thread and a question came to my mind..
I entered in US on AP and got the I-94 with the validity date as my AP date. Now my AP is going to expire and I am not going to travel anywhere any time this year. So just wondering what will happen when the I-94 is expired. Do I have to get it renewed from somewhere or just dun worry about it. or do I have to apply for a new AP.
Can anyone can shed some light on this situation?
If your AP expires, renew it. Dont worry about I-94

Hi, I applied for my green card (NY state) and have my priority date as 09/25/2003. I see the status as Pending on the backlog elimination center website. I have still not received any updates from them. My lawyers said they are still waiting to hear back from the BEC. Have they started processing Sep 2003 applications at this point?

as long as your gc is pending, you can get 1 year extension. After 140 approval and 485 still pending you can get 3 year extension. OR you can apply for EAD to continue in status.

YouTube said that people will be able to continue to ask questions of the president for an additional few days, as well as vote for their favorite questions.
But here's the best part: next week, President Obama will answer the top-voted questions in a YouTube interview from the White House. It will be broadcast live on Citizentube.

Hi,
I lost my job on 7th Nov 2008. On the same day I received the offer letter & my H1 transfer was applied by the new company. This new company goes by rules, so they are waiting for the H1 receipt. They have not applied H1 trasnfer in premium processing.
My questions are,
1.) What time is it taking to get a receipt by USICS? (NON Premium Processing - I�m in NY City - so probably Vermont Center)
2.) Do we have any rule in written (Official), that as soon u apply for transfer, without getting the receipt; you can work for the new employer?
(So I can show it to my new employer)
3.) Can I follow with USICS? Have they received my application for transfer? How to contact them? What reference should I give them, to find my application? (I don�t have tracking number - FedEx receipt)
4.) What is the time taken for the H1 Paper, to be delivered after receipt, by USICS?
Trust me this is so frustrating, U can�t join because of all this paper work.
Please respond ASAP.
NOTE: Also please let me know , when u had applied the same.

I was in a similar situation as you and had to use this firm. H1B filing experience was fine but the entire GC process and filing was not a good experience at all. There were days I had to call the paralegal and teach him the new immigration laws and that's never a good sign ! Because of their mistake I was stuck in Eb3 rather being in Eb2. May be they will deal differently with your case but have a chat with them and your company managers before you agree to use them. I m with another company and another attorney firm and they are awesome !

Yes got the receipt yesterday. Here are the details:
USCIS received my application on May 7th and my wife's application on May12th. USCIS posted both checks at the same time and both hit my account on May 21st. Received receipt notice on May 24th. I think USCIS waits for a couplle of weeks and then processes all applications at the same time - hence a delay - or a log of 2 -3 weeks.
It was an all papaer application.

hi my wife had filed 485 on aug 2nd, we got the receipts aug 23rd monday.
Hope this helps...
We filed at TSC.
Also I got my GC approved today, i had filed 485 during july fiasco.

My I-485 was filed in month of August 2008 under EB2 .I was laid off from my I-485 sponsoring employer(A) in month of August 09 and i took another Job with employer (B) in same field in month of Sep 09. I did not file AC21 as my previous employer's(A) attorney advised not necessary to file AC21.Now I am getting new offer from another employer(C) in same position but this new employer(C) wants me to file AC21 .
What are my options now? Should i file AC21 for employer (B) first and then file AC21 for employer (C) or should i directly file AC21 for employer (C).
I will greatly appreciate your reply.
Are you kidding me - why are there no stop gap measures/short term fixes asked for all the high skilled folks stuck in retrogression for the very reasons outlined in this letter. This is politics at its best -
