Hey I'm looking into buying a preferably new Macbook or Macbook Pro. I need one soon as I'm moving out for my freshman year of college. The two things I'm mainly concerned about is 500+GB, and 4GB Processor. I was wondering what might be some good places to begin looking for the right laptop.
4GB processor? Hopefully you mean ram :o
You can always look on Apples web site (http://apple.com) for new or refurb. Mac Of All Trades (http://www.macofalltrades.com/Apple_Notebooks_s/5.htm) also has a good selection of used MacBooks for fair prices.

Also, I highly recommend taking at least one backpack to put sunscreen, water and snacks in. Disney World does allow food to be taken in now so I also recommend taking lunch some days as eating there every day is expensive.
Have fun!
We have a back pack already set up for the trip, the more people post here the more I see P&S is the way to go. Now the question is, whether the TMz-5 is good or should I "upgrade" hmmm, decision, decisions.

Hey all,
So I'm getting a second computer for my theatre, only for playback purposes (using Qlab and sound files) and I'm having a bit of a conundrum!
On Craigslist, I can find some local 17" iMac G4's for $150 (800mhz, 512mb RAM, airport card, mouse and keyboard, running 10.4 Tiger) or on Macofalltrades.com, there's a Powermac G5 1.8GHz, 2.0gb RAM running 10.5 Leopard, with mouse, keyboard and older 20" Apple Cinema Display for $350.
I'm debating because I don't need TOO much for this second computer, as its purpose is relatively narrow. I just can't figure out if I should get the bigger, better computer for more monies or just save my cash.
It should be noted that the CL iMac has a few install CDs, none are included for the Powermac.
My first Mac is my current laptop, a 15" uMBP, so I don't have any experience with PPC Macs... What would you do? Thanks!

Without wishing to breach the piracy regs on MR have you considered changing the firmware on your PSP to an open version? Then you can stick all your legally owned games onto your memory stick and switch between them when you get bored. Saves carrying around a load of UMDs, or you can stick ripped films on there.

Dunno what OS you have, but I will assume up-to-date on everything. Click airport signal thingy on top right, and click "use interference robustness" or whatever it's called. Then try.
What does that do anyways? Should I have it checked?

Hi all,
I have a mid-2009 15 MBP. Last year I upgraded my 500GB HDD with a 160GB SSD. Overall I love the results and believe its one of the best hardware upgrades I have made in recent years.
However, 160GB quickly becomes difficult to work with (especially with multiple VMs) so I am keen to look for another internal storage solution.
This is where OptiBay comes in. Allowing me to remove my optical drive (which I never use) and add an additional HDD.
I am keen to understand if anyone has any experience with OptiBay? Any issues or things I should know about?
My other problem is which one to buy? There are loads on eBay, but I worry about quality. So I have narrowed my search to:
MCE OptiBay (http://www.mcetech.com/optibay/) for $99 or iFixit OptiBay (http://www.ifixit.com/Apple-Parts/9-5-mm-SATA-Optical-Bay-SATA-Hard-Drive-Enclosure/IF107-080) for $59.95?
Any thoughts? I consider iFixit to be a reparable company and its cheaper, but I don't want to drop quality.
Any thoughts?
Thanks in advance.

I have jaguar running on my wallstreet 233 and it works fine and is very stable. I do not use it as my main computer anymore but it works fine when i need it. Freehand and Photoshop run fine on it as do less intensive apps, although long actions in ps can get tedious.
I wouldn't be surprised to see a hack for panther once it comes out unless there is some large hardware/firmware problem to overcome.

hi,
I'm having trouble with vertical distance in GoLive.
eg: my home page.
I want to have a certain distance between various headings and sections of www.eclispenow.org but really can't seem to get the "box" tool working properly. Any ideas for guaranteeing vertical distance... without getting into html? (Html scares me at this stage.)

Hey guys. We know that the MB 2008 only adress 6GB RAM even the 8GB kit is installed (OWC wrote this) if more than 6GB memory is inserted then the machine would lag horribly
I have the latest boot ROM version [MB51.007D.B03]
Ya i haven't made any upgrades in a while.
Someone told me this :http://www.macrumors.com/2011/03/07/secret-firmware-update-unlocks-support-for-8-gb-ram-on-late-2008-notebooks/
so i ask question in this thread.
so should i install 8GB (2x4GB's) on my MB 2008 Alu?
Mac OS 10.6.7 2.0GHz 2GB stock RAM 160GB 5400RPM stock HDD
