I have been a PC user for basicly my entire life, but I have never exactly been happy with it. The thing would crash, have the BSoD, but that is not really why i switched.
Basicly I got tired of the Windows Operating System, Bill Gates, and the millions of PC Viruses. I needed a notebook for college in the fall, and I picked up a 17" PowerBook G4 because it suites all of my needs and it replaces the need for a desktop for quite some time. I have enjoyedm first week as a Mac User because everything has worked so well, and I am actually used to all of the windows opened at the same time now! (I never understood before untill I actually spent hours upon hours with the thing)
I have now become addicted to iTunes and have puchased 68 songs in my first week. :D Another reason why I wanted the Mac is because of Final Cut Pro. I love watching and making movies so I felt that the Mac would be the best thing for me... The last movie I made was on my Pentium 4 box and I nearly threw it out of the window because it was so evil... Hopefully the Mac is more kind. I have not started to edit video on my Mac yet, but that is because I have not had the time.
I like my "little" 17" PowerBook because it works great and everyone I have shown it off to has been really amazed by it.

Get a Seagate.
Nice 5-year warranty and nearly dead silent.
I had four of them in my last PM.
The Maxtor in my PM sounds like a hamster on a wheel compared to my nice, quiet Seagate.

The name is pretty lame and the "logo" is worse - most reasonable people will just think you misspelled published. Keep trying unless you don't care about brand. And as for Umlauts... don't use them unless you have a purpose other than hiding a bad mark.
I'm pretty sure that the people who are commenting that they like the name or the logo have little professional experience to back up their claim. Just because someone says something is good doesn't mean that it is.

I can't figure this one out. I successfully jailbroke my 1st gen iPad after using pwnage tool and tetheredboot.
However when I open cydia and do the required updates it asks me to reboot, so I do so but it keeps on going through a boot loop.
I then put it in DFU and do the tetheredboot command in terminal but it fails every time saying:
Macintosh-6:~ Eddy$ /Users/Eddy/Desktop/tetheredboot/tetheredboot -i/Users/Eddy/Desktop/tetheredboot/iBSS.k48ap.RELEASE.dfu -k/Users/Eddy/Desktop/tetheredboot/kernelcache.release.k48

So then my only option is to restore again through itunes and rejailbreak which means I loose the updates I install. I've done this about 5 times now and it's really pissing me off.
Is snowbreeze more reliable then the method I'm using? If so I may have to boot in bootcamp and try.

I removed my Samsung 470 SSD from an HP laptop that had Win 7 running. Trim was enabled automatically with Win 7. When I put it into my new Macbook Pro trim was not enabled. You can check by going into the Apple, then About, then More Info and finally into Serial ATA. When you scroll down you will see that trim is not enabled.( Without it, the SSD will fill up and slow down. Google it and see what it does). Groths.org had a Trim Enabler patch that worked perfectly. I downloaded it and clicked on it and it installed. When I went back into the Apple, etc I found that trim had been enabled. Kudos to Oskar. I dropped a couple of bucks on him from Paypal because I appreciate this kind of work. Maybe Apple will have trim enabled in the next OS, like Win7.
OSX is not affected the same way without trim. It may slightly improve overall performance but because the whole file structure is different TRIM is not nearly as essential on OSX. In fact, forum members have reported problems with SSD's after enabling TRIM.

Glad to see they are still hardworking on fixing and improving "not-new" products.
That's one thing I really hate about apple. Once a new revision comes out, if you have a problem with the previous generation product you may as well forget about it ever getting fixed.

There is another one out there utilising an 800 MHz G3.
Unfortunately, I've never seen anything about graphics upgrades as this would take a whole lot more research and possibly a daughterboard and firmware upgrades to make it work.

the explanation might be as simple as :
1. The TiBook is the best looking machine, and they just wanted to use it.
2. The designers laying out the web page are oblivious to computers and just decided to go with option nr. 1.
A looong while back I took a screen capture of a microsoft XP teaser movie where the people are shown browsing wirelessly on a Pismo Powerbook..... I posted that on maccentral I believe. Oh, wait, I retrieved it, here goes:

Now a days you have to protect the skin of the iphone. Total Body Skin covers your face again, and wraps around the sides and corners. Even the Home button is covered. Screen covers the face skin. Back to back skin covers the chrome.

I was finally able to check that and your are CORRECT it wasn't that line - I found that the reason it didn't work was that I had $webmaster and $email set to the same email address and something didn't like that... case closed.
Nice! And sorry if I came across as a jerk at any point -- wasn't my intent, honest :-)

After searching here: http://mroogle.edesignuk.com/
I cannot find a thread that addresses my question.
I am looking for a high quality screen protector for my iPhone 4 what will cover the entire display from Edge to Edge.
Recently I received one from Boxwave and it did not go all the way out to the edges of the glass. As a result the protector and the edge of the case that overlaps the side of the phone, interfered and the protector edges curled up.
Also I don't want to mess with water or solutions needed to install the protector. That's one of the reasons I chose Boxwave, as it goes on dry.
Thanks!

1) Yes.
2) No, but know, that the TM backup is not an image like CarbonCopyCloner (http://www.bombich.com) or SuperDuper (http://www.shirt-pocket.com/superduper/superduperdescription.html) are capable of doing.
But the OS version on the MBP and the backup should be at least the version the Mac mini comes with, which should be 10.6.6.
Also take a look at rsync or ChronoSync if you want to use both Macs and want to have the data in sync.

I guess I'll be with you in spirit as well :D
I have fond memories of running over to the Ginza store after work for the Tiger release. It was pretty incredible how damn long the line was- but it moved impressively fast! I'm still kicking myself for letting the Apple store employees convince me to buy the English box instead of just getting the Japanese one. Oh well :apple:
