I've always had decent luck with the M-Audio Oxygen series. Worth a shot, and not too terribly expensive. I don't believe they have weighted keys, but they're all velocity-sensitive.

If it does have a Beta of Mac OS X it would be of Jaguar, 10.2. But I think that it is very unlikely that an OS would stay intact on a computer that of this vintage, if it even has a hard drive.

How do you use the knife part, and how does it not slice your mouth open?

I suppose the knife part is on the side and I guess you just have to be careful not to cut the side of your mouth open. I doubt its that sharp tho. I'm yet to use or to find one of these in the wild.

Whenever I've needed it, I've rented the D700 when I've needed a full frame, because how far away can Nikon's next prosumer full frame be?

The 5D Mark II came out YEARS ago at this point, which succeeded the 5D, which was the D700's first competitor.

Do we have any ideas/updates on this one?

Anyway, will see if I can 'appropriate' a couple of extra t-shirts for my fellow Tokyo based MacRumor colleagues who can't attend! Probably not possible, but I did get some extra stuff when Tiger came out�

Alas, I'm in Chiba-ken and working AND I already reflexively pre-ordered
the feline but I'd REALLY like a T-shirt!

Oh I would definitely advise you to switch to Earthlink. AOL is satan, I had to report them to the BBB because they refused to give me a refund when I cancelled service. Then, 3 months after I cancelled, they re-activated my account and started trying to draft money from my credit card. It was a big nightmare and my bank had to suspend AOL from charging me.

Earthlink is great because they are simple and don't BS you all the time. The only downside is they try to send you junk mail about their services, even when you don't want it. But I don't use their email, so it's not a problem.

Here are a few things:
1.) Check you color sync profile.
2.) Load in a blank white picture and move it around the screen.
Are there really hot spots.
3.) Load in or create a b/w test 4 square test pattern. Do the same.
4.) Try these resolution test patterns.
SMPTE and BWH test patterns to download. (http://brighamrad.harvard.edu/research/topics/vispercep/tutorial.html)

5.) Are you a smoker, or is the screen in direct sunlight for a time?
Spotty yellowing may occur behind an in front of the screen from smoke and nicotine. Sunlight may damage a screen with UV.

If you find "hot spots" and have AppleCare, give Apple a call.

6.) If your dog does pee on the screen, it should just drip off. If it doesn�t, you dog may be diabetic. Glucose in the urine will cause it to stick.

I'd give it a 9. The only knock against it being the ability to get in and mod it easily. I come from the PC world where I built my own machines and constantly tweaked and upgraded them over time. I've had my current iMac for 4 years and just ordered another of the new ones. They are incredibly powerful for an all-in-one and it just works. As it turns out I didn't really need to do much modding except for RAM, which is easy. I've had absolutely no problems with my current iMac. Wife is getting that one and my 7 yr old is getting her MacMini.

I've never found the server healthy enough to watch until 48 hours later anyway. Pity they only put the MW'07 onto the ITS. Perhaps they'll do it with the '08 - so it can download in full and the be watched.

It works on my iPad 2. It shows the Netflix red screen on my iPad and then the stream on my TV with the audio coming from my TV. I don't have to do anything special aside from plug the cables in and we're good to go. I don't have any additional display apps on my iPad.

Are you using the new HDMI adapter?

Finally broke down and picked up a MacMini. I have a time machine backup of my MBP and all my software installed but would like to just replace the default OS on the MacMini to save me time from having to reinstall all of my software.

1) Is this possible?

2) Since the hardrive size is different between the two, if I am able to restore from my MBP image (250 GB), will the MacMini only have 250GB formatted and allocated or will it format the entire 320GB and be accessible or will I need to extend the partition to reclaim the additional 70GB?

Thanks for any advice.
